What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will collaborate with the Corporate VMware and Unix team to innovate and build significant business impact through the strategic planning and maintenance of the DTI infrastructure across AML site.

The Sr. Associate System Administrator is responsible for the VMware and Unix infrastructure and for leading the client relationship activities and meet the business needs, ensuring cost effectiveness, compliance, reliability, and resilience.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform administrative and operational support tasks on Unix OS and VMWare platforms.

  • Support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the technology services.

  • Perform operational support systems maintenance in accordance with solutions standard methodologies and Change Management policies.

  • Ensure business continuity during critical production issues and ensure the problem management process is followed for root cause, corrective and preventative actions.

  • Participate in On-Call rotation supporting a 24x7 critical environment.

  • Consistently deliver results aligned with departmental and program goals.

  • Provides performance analysis and tune systems while using software and hardware tools to identify, analyze, and diagnose problems and factors affecting performance.

  • Contribute to the design, documentation, and execution of disaster recovery activities and associated tests

  • Drive continuous improvement in the IS infrastructure processes as well as platform life cycle management in alignment with regulatory and manufacturing requirements.

  • Deliver progress reports and presentations ensuring that management is aware of the current status, progress and future needs.

  • 15% Travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of information systems experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 6 years of information systems experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of information systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educational background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Science and/or Engineering.

  • Experience in running and administering VMWare, Unix OS, and related services & monitoring systems, vendor certifications preferred

  • Basic experience with virtualization technologies for a global enterprise, vendor certifications preferred.

  • Experience with command-line style management utilities, such as vMA/PowerCLI/bash/Ansible

  • Availability to participate in on-call rotation supporting a 24x7 agile environment.

  • Understanding of Linux OS and network tools for solving performance issues

  • Experience working with regulations such as SOX, Information Privacy, FDA cGxP controlled environment and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
