The Maintenance & Engineering department is responsible for keeping all the production lines up and running and continuously improving the performance of all the assets involved. A team of highly trained technicians who are executing the various maintenance activities need to be able to fully rely on the preparations carried out by the Maintenance Engineering.

Basic Qualification and Requirement

The Maintenance Engineering plays a critical role in coordinating, preparing and arranging all the complex maintenance activities and ensures that all boundary conditions are met before production lines are shut down to execute the preventive maintenance activities. This role leads a team of maintenance technicians and communicates with many stakeholders. Alignment with our equipment suppliers is essential to prepare all required maintenance parts, -activities, -technical experts, safety precautions, and work permits to perform a first time right execution of maintenance on site. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders (production, planning, quality, process development, validation) is a key element of this job. Last but not least, all planned maintenance activities should be fully aligned with our Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program. This program dictates defined maintenance intervals to execute small, medium and large sized maintenance activities.

Essential for being successful in this position is being very structured and accurate, in both working and documenting. Traveling to our equipment suppliers for training and preparing large maintenance programs is part of this role as well.

Primary Focus / General Accountability

Ensure flawless execution of complex preventive maintenance activities by accurate preparation and clearly coordinated activities for all parties involved.

Leading a team of maintenance technicians to execute preventive maintenance

First point of contact with all our (international) equipment manufactures. Alignment of plans, maintenance parts, external experts, time delivery and training.

In close contact with our senior maintenance engineers and reliability engineers to define the right and exact preventive maintenance needs and activities.

Drive continuous improvement in the maintenance processes and systems

In close contact with our (lead) technicians to assure that all their needs and requirements are part of the final preventive maintenance plan.

Arrange maintenance parts, work permits, team organization and calibration.

Working according Amgen Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be fully compliant to our Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Qualifications

Bachelor degree level, obtained via education or by experience.

Engineering background; maintenance, mechanics and electronics or mechatronics

3+ years experience in comparable role in a regulated environment (can be from outside Pharma) or ready for your next career step after having done complex maintenance activities for multiple years, with evidence of excellent communication and planning skills.

Experience in doing business with external suppliers, preferably packaging equipment manufacturers

Solid background in accurate documenting, familiar with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Systems like Maximo, Ultimo etc.

Fluency in written and spoken Dutch and English, preferably also in German.
